The proposed budget for the 2010-11 school year is now available for review on this web site. Check it out by going to the Finance and Operations Department, to the Business Office, and then to Budget. District 70 remains dedicated to working within a lean, fiscally responsible budget.

Libertyville Elementary School District 70 is located in southern Lake County, Illinois, about 35 miles northwest of Chicago. We serve a student population of more than 2600 students. There are four elementary schools for grades K-5 and one middle school for grades 6-8. To visit our school websites, use the Schools link on the menu to the left. At District 70, we strive to provide a variety of educational opportunities and involvement for the entire community. We offer a comprehensive K-8 curriculum, including language arts, mathematics, science, social science, physical education, art, music, and international languages. The middle school program features grade level teams, elective and exploratory offerings, outdoor education, and many other extracurricular activities. A special program is provided to identify gifted students in the 4th through 8th grade levels. We also provide a full program and wide range of professional services, including guidance counselors, social workers, and psychologists, to assist students with developmental and academic concerns. District 70 is an area leader in utilizing an inclusionary model for delivery of special education services. We take pride in the consistently high level of academic achievement of our students. Our students rank significantly higher than the state averages at all grade levels and in all tested subject areas on the Illinois State Achievement Tests as indicated in the Illinois State Report Card

Parents: If you have not received any school emails as of today, you need to check your email registration. Once you complete that email registration, you will receive school news throughout the 2010-11 school year. Please check your spam folder for the Aug. 13 email. New parents and community members may register at any school site through the PARENT EMAIL section. Once you put in your email addresses, validation codes will be emailed to you and you can complete your registration with those codes. Use two email addresses to make sure you get all the news.

Calendar Set for 2010-11 School Year - Superintendent's

The D70 calendar for the 2010-11 school year has been posted here. The first day of school for the 2010-11 school year is a full day on Monday, Aug. 23. Remember the school day begins at 8:15 a.m. and will end at 2:45 p.m. for Adler Park, Butterfield, Copeland Manor and Rockland schools. Highland Middle School continues to begin at 8:50 a.m. and end at 3:35 p.m.

Libertyville School District 70 actively pursues highly qualified candidates for all open and/or vacant certified and support positions. Call for Substitute Teachers and Paraeducators - Human Resources

Libertyville School District 70 is currently seeking out motivated and dedicated substitute teachers and substitute paraeducators (one-on-one assistants). In order to be considered "qualified" an applicant needs to have teaching experience, or a teaching degree to include student-teaching experiences. Until further notice, applicants without these qualifications will not be contacted for an interview. Please click here to go to the District 70 Employment page.

There you will find a general welcome letter which describes the steps involved in applying for substitute teaching in District 70.
